1- Check your spelling-even one wrong letter could lead you astray, far from the subject you want to find.

2- Be specific- the more detailed or precise you are about your search the greater chance of success.

3- Check that domain tag- Is it a .com, or a .net, or a .org, or one of many other suffixes you are looking for.

4- Beware pop ups-having a browser with a pop up blocker will prevent bombardment from unwanted adverts.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here.

5- Keep your details safe- only give personal data out to secure and trusted sites.

6- Log your favorites- when you find a site you like, tag it to make sure you can find it again!

7- Keep an open mind- try to sift out the large amount of web-filler amongst the nuggets of proper information.

8- Social networking- either in or out, it pays to know something about this prevailing trend.

9- Adult content- if you do not wish to view such material, get a program that will block or alert you about such material.

10- Don’t over search- you will get lost and confused in the enormity of it all!
